[Vwdiesel] wheel noise

When you take all the stuff off, is there a small nub of bolt sticking
out of the old threaded hole? If so, plug weld a nut on, let it cool,
give it a few sharp raps with a hammer and it should wrench right out.

Another way is to buy a smaller left hand drill bit. Try to drill on
exact center, it relieves the pressure a bit, and if it grabs, on
smaller bolts, it usually turns the thing out.

Regarding your broken sockets, I had a tire shop goon install fronts on
my Jetta, used the air gun to rattle the lug bolts tight enough to peel
the threads out of the hub.

Imaging my surprise when there were lug bolts in the ashtray, not the
wheels. Imagine his surprise when I went back and inserted said lug
bolts along with an air gun.
