Now if you happen to be turning it instead of the idle screw... ;-)
If you have heavy smoke when romping it then back off the fuel screw
and you can turn up the idle. Sounds like the idle speed you want is
right on what you'd call the transition range on a carburetor. This would
put you on the low end of the transition but with less fuel and thus a lower
idle than you see now.
If you get no smoke when flooring it (cable adjusted and no floor mat
under the pedal) then turn the fueling up and get back into the idle circuit
(spring) with hopefully a fast enough idle. :-)
