  A bit less brutal to just work around the inside of the seal's lip, then 
while pushing pull out on the lip so that it can be pulled through as the 
windshield is pushed out.  Start in the top center, work one top corner, 
the other and work your way down the sides.  The bottom will lift/pop 
out.  I've only had a couple really brittle windshields crack to any extent 
this way.  A couple cracks aren't bad, it's when they're brittle and splinter 

all to heck that it gets nasty.
  You may not be limber enough to push the top with your feet and work 
the seal with your fingers and a small screwdriver so a helper might come 
in handy.
