There are a couple of options for MAFs.  There was the 2.0 gas one and a 
Mercedes one that was a pretty close fit.  I ordered mine from 
TDIParts.com (listowner Dan Simones site) so it should be the proper TDI 
one.  I try and throw a little business his way since he's cool about 
giving us this nice electronic playground.  And, autohausaz.com listed 
$240.

It's weird to me that they would change the MAF between VW models 
instead of changing the calibration  programmed into the ECU.  Seems 
like it would be easier to make one part and change the programming.  I 
suppose that's why I'm not an engineer....
