  Problems with 5th gear is almost ALWAYS an indicator of 
low gear oil.  Having to double clutch it would indicate either the 
synchro ring is bad (usually they get noisy with low oil) or your 
clutch.  If it's the synchro ring, it could be changed in car, if it's 
the clutch then...
  Just being 5th gear you could swap what you need off of the donor 
tranny and still not pull it or have to swap.  Synthetic oil might do a 
lot too.  Lots of options.
  Depends on how and how badly the one was hit whether anything 
inside would be bad.  Good chance yours is still good or close to it. :-)

  FN is the same I think.  FF is probably the most common.  ACH 
I believe, has the same gears except for a lower final.  Most have 
the upshift light type of backup switch though.
