[Vwdiesel] HELP - WHEEL FELL OFF !!!

Rolf,

Not sure what happened without seeing it in 3-d (in person) but the fluid 
leak isn't good. The flange doesn't pull out of a VW trans, at least none of 
hte ones I"ve worked on. They have a bolt in the center of the flange under 
a cap. The Asian imports usually use a clip and pull out, but not the 
Germans. Anyhow, I'd start by pulling the axle out and seeing what is going 
on. It may have broken something in the trans or shattered the outer bearing 
in the final drive. This could be very bad, though :-( Shhhhh, I'll say no 
more, maybe you will get lucky.
