[Vwdiesel] Amsoil & other synthetics

I can't answer the soot buildup. I have an oil analyzer that measurers the acid build up & tells me when to change. When I had my 1985 Mazda 626 diesel I changed every 7,500 miles. Amsoil does have specially formulated diesel oil. Also, how the new ULS diesel will affect carbon/soot build up, I don't know. I believe I read where you are supposed to use a low ash oil with ULS diesel & will have to check what oil Amsoil recommends for this application. I haven't looked at the www.amsoil.com website lately. If you can't find out from their website, I am sure Amsoil technical services can provide this info.
