[Vwdiesel] air in fuel line

  A few months back, Dad called my cell, stuck on the side of the road.  
The Passat would idle, drive a bit, starve out and die.  Same bubbles 
issue.  We fussed, fought and messed with the thermo recycler valve 
thingy.  Finally checked price on a filter and valve.  Yeesh!  Hose 
connection 
type filter was about half and no valve too.  He just put in an A2 type 
filter 
and a brass hose-hose barb tying the return line back to the tank full time.
Clamped all the connections and away it went with not a single bubble in 
the lines anymore.  :-)
