  Amazing what a 3" exhaust would do to drop temps.  Maybe 
bigger if it's a TD.  2 1/2 on the 1.6, so I figure 3" for my 2.0 Audi 
TD then at LEAST 3" for a 2.4 TD Volvo.  EGT drops dramatically 
with bigger exhaust.  That in turn would drop operating heat load.  
I don't understand where all this "diesels run hotter than a gas" 
stuff comes from.
