That's for sure Bryan. I was in NY in spring.
I think the single most striking thing that I noticed as compared to my
travels elsewhere was the total and utter lack of recycling. All of it
just goes to the trash, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, paper... no
noticeable effort made at all. Now contrast that to Saskatchewan. We
could recycle everything down to snot on the kleenex and it wouldn't
offset a month of business as usual in NY. Had fun tho.
As to cars, I saw only one Jetta A2, and I do tend to notice this stuff.
Saw a stretch Hummer limo, a number of really nice 911's, Ferraris,
but as far as thrifty cars go, almost none. Not surprising really,
since in NY, parking a car costs as much as anyone else pays for a roof
over their heads.
