My 82 NA has that hose coming off a niple on the top of the radiator. In the
coolant bottle, when running, there is a very steady flow, it shoots out and
goes probably 6" into the bottle.
There really isn't a way to check the WP without pulling it. On the newer
cars, youc an pull the thermostat and check it. However, I'm not sure you
can see enough to tell on the older cars. However, that might be worth a
try, as aside from draining the cooling system, it only requires removal of
two screws. Unless they break :(
