[Vwdiesel] Interchangeability of Jetta III and Jetta IV floor pans

I have a 1998 Jetta that has enough floor rust to warrant replacing  
part of the floor with salvage yard pieces.  Since most 1998's on the  
Canadian East Coast are likely to be no better than mine, I was  
hoping that the Jetta IV floor was the same so I could get rust free  
parts.  I would appreciate any information that is available.
