  It's more common for the speedometer to fail than the cable.  
However they usually make noises, give erroneous readings, 
etc before they die.  Like Roger said, check the cable.  If
someone previously didn't get it connected fully, it may have 
simply fallen off.
  The clock could have died and anything that fits is fair game.  
Haven't looked at all that many of them since they don't fail 
that often.  I'd first make sure it has power and/or that the 
plastic "pc board" connecting everything in the cluster, is not 
brittle and falling apart/cracked.
 The temp gauges vary and are usually above half to almost 4/5 
depending on the gauge.
