I've had a few instances where the copper traces on the plastic
'board' were cracked and not transmitting power. Very hard to track
down, since they were just hairline, but easy to fix once I did. I
solder in one strand from a multi strand copper wire and I'm back in
business. You need to be very careful doing this, though, because the
plastic around the trace wants to melt. If you go quick and have a
steady hand you can do it. (Though I have quite a bit of experience
soldering traces, but it was 10 years ago.) Use plenty of rosin and
clean it up afterwards.
