Question number one about your new injection pump. What did you time it at?
I haven't read about your pump timing setting which should be somewhere
between .82 and the high.90's for an N/A. If your pump timing is on then
there are only three adjustments on the pump. on the top nearest to the
engine is the idle adjustment screw which should be set to give you an idle
of 850 to 950 rpm, With the engine not running I guess that would be hard
but on my Dasher which runs great I show 10 threads in front of the aluminum
boss across the top of the pump and the max throttle screw shows 5 threads.
The only other adjustment screw on the pump is the fuel screw by the
solenoid. This is usualy best left alone but if you turn it a little one way
you have no power and if you turn it a little the other way you get lots of
power(fuel) and lots of black smoke. If one fools with that adjustment go
easy and remember where you came from. An eighth of a turn makes a big
difference usualy. One wouldn't think so but I found when trying to get a
turbo setup going that the idle adjustment screw messes big time with fuel
delivery and I belive if it is very far off the engine might not run.
