Did you remove the "throttle" arm?  Yes?  Oh dear, what a shame. Much
fiddling ahead.

Otherwise, its time to set up the IV drip. A 1gal container (or old IV bag!)
with 2 lines, one feed, and one return, hung from the hood for gravity feed.

Prime the fuel to flow by gravity in to the pump (syphon or otherwise) then
try to run it.

If it runs OK, you have fuel line/lift pump problems. If it wont run on the
IV drip, you have REALLY serious internal pump problems.

OH, something else. When you installed the pump, did you put the banjo bolt
with the tiny metering hole in the outlet fitting? if you put it in the
inlet, it will only run at idle, if at all.
