Reply to Rudy. One of our local junk yards, Kilroys, Grass Valley, CA. had an '86 Quantum gas wagon that they were parting out. I bought the tail gate, tail lite lenses, & a few parts from it last summer. Whether they still have it or it is crushed, I don't know.As I recall, the body was straight & too good to crush but junk yards often see this differently. I still have the tail gate as I was able to straighten out the dented on my Quantum.
My Dasher wagon has a very good rust free body with a couple of small dings, LF door & RF fender. Has A/C(not working), 4 speed manual, sun roof, & roof rack, & new Michelin tires. I wasn't thinking of selling it & was thinking about doing what Bryan Decker has done, install a turbodiesel & 5 speed transmission in it. Is a rose red color, faded in spots & black vinyl upholstery in good condition. I also have an '80 Dasher diesel wagon parts car with lots of dents, broken tail gate window that could be restored but don't think is worth the effort. It does not have A/C. I might be persuaded to part with the Dashers with enough money. I also two 4 door Rabbit diesel project cars, one with a 5 speed ,sun roof, & non-working A/C. Wasn't thinking of selling them as the '80 Dasher & badly dented Rabbit may have good engines, until I get the '81 Dasher wagon running well as they are a source of some potentially valuable parts. Unless you have your own pickup truck & car trailer, I don't think it would pay for you to get my cars. I would consider swapping the two Rabbits for a good Dasher TD diesel engine & 5 speed that I could put in the Dasher.
