  I never quite understood that.  EVERYTHING else about these 
engines is very accurately machined, .001" difference in the dia 
of the piston and the bore!!  It doesn't make sense that the blocks 
wouldn't maintain the crank line to deck distance or stroke length
but for some reason...
  I'm surprised there's enough difference in the piston to deck 
height to need milled.  I'd though of checking such but all the 
pistons I've bought for some time now have a coating I'd rather 
not remove.  If they're that bad then a good indexed grinding of 
the crank would be in order.  It'd be a bit shocking if the pin to 
piston top height is actually different from piston to piston.
