[Vwdiesel] Head gasket thickness & compression levels

Well, I've never measured pin to top of piston height, but in
measuring the diameter of a set of brand new, German pistons from
Halsey import, one of the four was off from the other three by a
couple thousandths. I was surprised, but since we hadn't bored the
block yet we just gave the pistons to the machinists and they bored
one hole slightly off from the others and then marked which piston
went in which hole. It worked great, but if a set of pistons is off a
little that way, I don't see any reason why they couldn't also be off
in the pin to top measurement...
