well, let's see
bought the thing last year
immediately had to rebuild entire driver's side door b/c window didn't
open - that was a big project
then did timing belt and a bunch of other stuff neglected by PO
then alignment and suspension stuff, wheel speed sensors, bearings, tires
ill-fated alternator job which may or may not have led to needing to
replace virtually everything in the turbo chain
now the CAT they want $900 for, and pretty soon it'll be timing belt
season again
just saying - my Rabbit also got 50 mpg and I could fix anything on it
with paper clips and scotch tape
but you're right, I'm sure when I get everything sorted away it will have
been worth it
just feels like my 'bargain' $2500 TDi has cost me about $20k so far
