[Vwdiesel] improvements ?

While so called "GERMAN ENGINEERING" lost its aura with me a very long time 
ago, since actually early sixties, I am amazed reading on the list all kind 
of suggestions to change and improve this and that. Designwise do we know 
more than a bunch of low grade modern VW engineers?
These modern engineers have a small fraction of knowledge, attitude, 
practical experience of what their grandfathers had, but are happy to ride 
on the credit they didn't earn.
Speaking with field marshal Otto Moritz Walter Model in 1943, Hitler asked 
the field marshal: " What did happen to the strength of german soldier? It 
is not as it was in 1941?". To that Model answered: " 1941 and 1942 soldiers 
are in the graves in Russia ".
Same answer can be applied to what happen to German science and 
engineering., which before the war was ahead of any in the world.
It is my opinion that if VW would have been subjected to same merciless 
political compaign Toyota was subjected to, VW would disappear from US 
market. How many of the listees know of secret VW recalls?
In the very first year of Westfalia camper ownership, I in my letter to VW 
listed 20 defects. I got typical arrogant answer : " You are one of millions 
of happy VW vehicles owners, who isn't happy". And that was written to me, 
an electro-mechanical engineer, who in 1987 had 27 years experience in super 
precision machining and assembly.
I would like much better reading on the list suggestions on improvimg 
service and maintenance and how to reach car components without bloody 
scratches, bruises and see thoughts about better service tools and 
practices. Ark retiring in Portugal
