I got the Quantum started today, but barely. When I got it running it acted like an extremely retarded gas engine, slow idle, missing on one cylinder, & extreme diesel knocking. I think this is partially an issue of timing, but can't tell if the engine was to far advanced or retarded. What does it sound like to you?As I recall, you push the IP towards the engine to advance timming, away to retard it. Also, I still suspect a defective IP. Someone came over to look at some of my cars who is a diesel mechanic & he said I should get diesel leakage when you crack the injector lines at the injectors, but got none. 
Earlier, when I rotated the engine from valve, I locked the cam in place & loosened the cam gear in front when I rotated the engine manually from valve to valve. When I locked the cam gear at TDC, I could manually rotate the engine with out hitting a valve. When I checked the compression, the engine was very cold, hadn't run for over a month. I was able to start the Dasher right up after sitting several months.
