Ken: yes, that's exactly the one.

Loren: i'm hoping this is the case. though i went to pretty ridiculous pains
to make sure it went back on the same teeth, i did so because i can tell
it'd be super easy to be off. so this is the first thing i'll try today.

and my engine DID surge, rhythmically, at a certain small low-rpm range. i
always wondered about that! after the reading i've done, i am AMAZED that
the thing ran as well as it did with the pump in such condition.

it was the normal banjo bolt restriction that seemed 'weird' to the PO who
had not bothered to learn about the pump.

if i used emoticons (which i usually dont), that would have read 'a measley
.4mm, right? :P'
new banjo bolt is in, pressure regulator pin is backed out ready to set
properly. hopefully i'll be able to do so with a pressure guage on the pump
and a laser tach, i have the bosch numbers and lots of message board advice.
we'll see. there's a bosch shop not toooo far away, if it comes to that. and
they already know me by my mis-matched injector bodies and my impish
parts-begging!

Will: that's great info, i think i found a bracket already but i may get in
touch with him about some other stuff. if you ever put a TD in a vanagon, i
have 2 pieces of advice: plan to have a new left-side mounting arm
fabricated to make PROPER room for the intake, and stay away from a certain
north carolina 'mechanic' who likes to hastily install quasi-rebuilt TDs in
vanagons!

THANK YOU for the advice, guys!
