[Vwdiesel] Coolant system rebuild and AC fix on 92 Eco Diesel

Usually, you charge the a/c system with some uv fluorescing dye, and charge
and run it, then use a uv lamp to find the leak. Recover the Freon, fix the
leak, replace...

If it's THAT bad, soapy water will work.
Check the connections, the Schrader valves in the connection points, spots
where hard line turn to rubber, and bracket attachment points to hard lines
with soapy water in a squirt bottle.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Coolant system rebuild and AC fix on 92 Eco Diesel

The front of the car is off and the old rad is out, by gosh, is that thing
ugly
looking and was ready to self detruct.  How it was keeping the motor as cool
as
it was doing, no idea.

The AC Evaporator (the AC rad attached to the cooling rad, right?) looks fine
and
show no signs of leaks.  I have a new Receiver Drier/Accumulator so I will
replace, the one on the AC Condensor looks fine, but will replace not that
system is open.

So, since the AC Condensor is $154, I think it is worth my while to see if I
can
get a rad. / AC place to preasure test it to make sure it is good.  I will
replace all O-rings of course in all of the connections when putting things
back
together.

My AC leak is still not obvious, but at least this marks a few of the pieces
of
the puzzle off as good.

Do you all agree it is worth getting the AC Condenser preasure tested?  I am

guessing they have the means to do this.
So that would leave hose leaks or AC Evaporator in the car.

Thanks
