I have an 84 (also automatic - but the C1 cars such as you have DID come with manual gearboxes - at least in Canada). The first issue you might have is the gearing. Even though the 2.0 is a smallish engine, it still runs out of breath at 4.5k. You might want to modify the pump to have it go all of the way up to 5k, but it will still be spinning gasser revs on the highway in your quattro (BTW: which car are you going to use?). These engines are the 1.6TD in almost every way, and made about 83HP. Turn the pump delivery up, not sure what nozzles are there now (GTD same??? need to know myself), if you pull the head, I would port it for better flow, I am told the turbo will deliver a lot more air than it does now, so open up the exhaust, maybe add an intercooler (from an audi turbo of same model as your quattro body) and you should be golden for over 100HP. IMHO, more than adequate for most needs.
Mine will some day move accross the shop floor and jump into my 924/M471.
