Brian,
Have u signed on to vwdiesel.net? LOTS of discussion there about
what u r trying to do. I doesn't take much to lower the compression
ratio on these diesels. You might consider milling some pockets for
your intake and exhaust valves and putting in a bigger cam. Or a
custom metal headgasket would give u the added volume. I think there
are some detail differences in the cranks but I can't remember exactly
what they are. I think it has to do w the nose of the crank. Take
a look around that website and I think u will find ample discussion
of those kinds of things. Keep us posted.
