[Vwdiesel] VW clutch and shift linkage

I was able to get the clutch to work for now. I used the new pressure plate. It is a 2 pin pressure plate but I lined it up with the one pin old pressure plate so the flywheel is located correctly. I took a flapper wheel to the friction disk and flywheel since the friction disk was the same thickness of the new one for the larger shaft. So I still need to find a friction disk sometime PN 068 141 037 MX and is a valeo. I really don't want to go with Prothe who seems to be the only one that has it.

Other question I have is my shifter linkage. The shaft/swing arm that runs vertical and is how rogers short shift kit bolts on. I need to see if someone has a new or better shaft. I think mine is just a little too loose between that and the ball part that mounts on the bottom there is a lot of play between the two and I have a tough time getting and staying in reverse. I don't care to pay abour $150 for a short throw kit that has a new shaft but I will if it saves my gears.I can't think grinding out of gear is good for reverse. I am thinking I will go with Rogers new replacement ball for the ball deal to tighten that up some. The rest of the system is all his already.
