That is an early TDI, maybe 1Z, with machanical pump. Looks in real nice shape, 2K is a good deal depending on what a compression test says.

  Sure looks like a 1.9 TDI with a mechanical pump but then the original Ecoracer had a 1.5...
  If anybody's actually interested in one, Engine World in CA would probably do a better price but it'd probably take some patience and asking really nicely.  That's how I got the RD28s.  Took a few month,, Parvis making a trip to Japan but I got two for less than half of the ebay price for one.
