I just did one on the '02 Golf not too long ago. It's really easy. From the looks of that switch, it should be something in between the A1 and what I did. Pull the covers and it becomes pretty evident what to do. I don't think I had to do any more than pull the lower cover and could access it all. Sorry I don't have any firsthand experience. Heck, if I did, I probably wouldn't remember it well enough to be any more use anyway!

o you have to remove the steering wheel, I am not sure. I know on a bug and a
anagon you do, but the lock barrel assembly comes out very easily when you put
he key in and twist.
he screw that holds the switch in place is under the key barrel.
et us know.

The ign sw on my 94 A3 is getting intermittent and needs a transfusion of yak
at or guanno to freshen it up.
I know where the little screw is that holds it in place on the A2 but I can't
ind it on the A3. I sure hope it is removable easily.
Any clues?
Looks like Bentley omits this by intent. only describes removing the whole
arrel assembly, basically ruining the car.
I will NOT attempt to remove the lock barrel assembly, I'll install a row of
ousehold toggle switches on the dash first!
