[Vwdiesel] OT uniformed tax collectors coming to a state near you

Loren, you may have a point about out-of-state plates (also
rural/urban may differ).

Admittedly it was over a decade back now, but I had a cop tell me
outright (while writing me a ticket for 72 in a 50 zone in the
Terwilliger curves on I-5) that if I had "only" been going 15 over he
wouldn't have bothered stopping me.

And before anybody gets worked up about excessive speed... A) I've
slowed down a lot since then, and B) I was only going that fast
because I was following a guy who was going even faster. :)
Unfortunately, when I asked why he didn't stop the other guy, the cop
said "what other guy?". :)
