[Vwdiesel] TDI tires

Ok with all of this talk of tires, this may or may not be on track regarding tire size.

I have a 1985 jetta diesel that has the stock 13" rims, however I have a set of 15" rims I would like to run on this car that bolt up fine, they currently do not have tires on them, I was only given the rims.  What would be the best method of determining the correct tires for the rims?

Any advice would be welcome
