The friend that's using my Jetta, dragged its PS pump around town  for a 
few days before he saw something hanging under the car.  Gee, he  didn't feel 
the lack of power steering, hear the dragging/clanging sound nor tie  it up 
when he found it, just drove it on home and parked it.  THAT pump may  still 
be around so the guts are fine but the case is kinda rounded off.  
  Probably a gear pump so not likely anything will come off  internally.  
Odds are it'll still work if it's not bound up when cooled  down.  My guess 
isn't so much the bends but suction sucked the hose  together.  Make sure 
your reservoir doesn't have any breaks or cracks while  you're messing around 
there.
