Thanks Loren, The 1.6 in it is a 1984 motor and hence the 109. The 110 has torx type hardware and a plunger switch so and looks more like one I had on my 1986 NA Jetta. So would I use the earlier timing for the engine or the later timing for the pump?
Terry

Thanks James, good idea I do have enough bits and pieces around to fab up
a puller. Looks like I'll try my reseal, time to spec and if it isn't right
I'll go by sight (smoke) and sound using other motor specs as ball park
numbers. The pump was given to me many years ago.
Odds are, if you set the timing to .95mm, it'll be close. Early pumps
were .88mm. It's not an early pump. Yellow dot are 1.15mm. It's not one of
those. TD pumps, 1.00mm, it's not that either.
The 110G is from a Canadian Golf/Jetta, 1985 and times at .90mm. Most
of the other pumps time from .90mm to .95mm. The only 109 pump I have any
record on, was .92mm, from an '84 Rabbit.
