Ditto on air leaks. Check plastic line, but that is hard at high power.
HF hand operated vac pump handy for spotting leaks, but not high flow leaks.

It's usually so dark you can't see through it but with a light behind it you can usually tell if there are bubbles. Start checking all connections, the drain in the bottom of the filter, that the filter is tight and the seal is correctly seated, the clamp behind the filter (to the hard line) is tight, the hose from the hard line to the tank is not wet with diesel, etc. Wouldn't hurt to inspect/blow out the air fitler too, just in case.
