[Vwdiesel] Injection pump timing?

I'm not a big fan of just putting in a lower temp thermoswitch. They're designed to go with the thermostat. Change stat temp, change the thermoswitch. Just change one and not use the correct one of the other and the fan will either run way too much or not enough.
Make sure you're actually running hot, with a thermometer (IR or what have you) rather than just using the gauge. They vary. Only in a Vanagon would I suspect the timing could be off enough to overheat but power should be equally low. What the pump number in case someone has the specs? Should be 068...

I'm using the injection pump that came with the AAZ. The water pump is
ewish and of all metal construction, it was used in the 1.6 na with a
ingle V belt conversion I purchased from Scott at turbo vans and not had
ny issues on the 1.6? The oil cooler hoses come out of the main coolant
oses. I wonder if my timing is retarded thus adding more fuel/heat to
chieve the power/speed desired? Planning on getting the dimensions of my
adiator shroud to see if I can upgrade the cooling fans and a lower temp
an switch.
