[Vwdiesel] Speedometer Odometer

Both stopped working in my Rabbit pickup 1.6td based motorhome on my last trip to Vancouver from Seattle. What is most likely the problem? Cable broken? BTW now enjoying 90+ degree  weather in Sihaunookville, Cambodia beach. Many tourists from Russia soaking up the sun......

I used a plastic-specific super glue:

Others have also reported wrapping the end of the gear with some fine wire to add strength.
