Man I miss that car.  I would buy a new one in a second, especially after
owning two new Passats in two years.
Every time a new Passat hits 100k, a vw engineer gets thrown off a cliff by
an angry mob of Passat owners. THAT's how they get their wings. 

The glass Ecodes I got from you for the 97 Passat were great, have good
pattern, very nice cutoff on the driver's side low beam so you can run
wattage without paining the oncoming driver. It's a very good modification.

I should mention, DO NOT EVER run bigger wattage bulbs on an A1 without some
form of load reduction relay installation- the switches are woefully
inadequate.  All the current runs through the headlamp switch, and the
switch isn't up to much, which means it bursts into flame at the most
inopportune times, like when it's dark, on a curve, in heavy traffic...  How
I know this is another ski trip story entirely.... The A2 headlamp switch is
a bit tougher, probably to directly address this, but the weak spot in that
circuit is the wiring harness plug on the back of the fuse panel. It will
melt, and make life interesting, or just partially melt, and make it
intermittently interesting.

I do have an extra set of glass, A2, E-code (C.Hina Co) headlights.  Haven't
really tried them on the Jetta yet (been loaned out).

Stearn is a cool dude, prices are okay.
e's old school benz, which is where the customer service protocol comes
from.  
t least you will get good relays, which are getting harder to come by, at
least or me here.  
idn't Roger have a headlamp relay kit all figured out and for sale?  I'm
hinking that would be pretty good as well (and Roger is also pretty cool)
