Hein,
	Your problem is probably to rich a fuel mixture, leaning out the 
	mixture should cure both problems. HC being high along with high CO
	indicated rich mixture. Easy problem to fix.	
	You need a CO meter, Heath Kit used to make the one I have, other sources
	may include Sears.
	The Adjustment is thru a hole under a plug adjacent to the air inlet
	hose (large Dia) on top of your Air Flow Meter.
	I can't remember the size , but I think it is a hex (allen) key, approx
	3 mm, maybe 5mm. Get a manual and procede from there.
	Or have the mechanic adjust the CO, ONLY!
	Other contributors can be: Dirty Air Filter, bad plugs, perhaps timing.
