RE: 82 Coupe GT

As I remember, the AUDI (Accelerates Under Demonic Influence) problem was
limited to 82-85(?) 5000 sedans with automatic xmission.

It was later determined that it was operator error, and special lockouts
were added to the xmission so you HAD to have your foot on the brake to
take it out of park.  It was rumored that the tests were rigged for effect
similar to the GMC pickup fiasco with the spontaneously exploding gas
tank...  ;-)  Gotta love the media!

U.S. drivers weren't used to the small pedals with tight spacing.
