Customised quattros

A few months ago someone posted a question about an Ur-quattro pictured in
the July issue of "VW/Audi Car". It had a modified front, with extra air
intakes on the bonnet, and looked pretty impressive.

This month's issue has a whole feature on the car, which is actually a
modified Coupe. Someone at a British company called Dialynx (sp?) took a
fancy to the Sport quattro (a short wheelbase Ur with, um, exciting
performance) and decided to build his own. He chopped out the middle of the
Coupe, stuck in a 200 turbo engine, and added custom fibreglass wheel
    arches, and other body details.

The end result looks good, although you can tell it from the Sport quattro
by the fact that the windscreen angle is shallower than the real Sport.
(which was based on the front end of the 80. Hey, my 80 Sport is halfway to
    being a Sport Quattro...)

You can also tell it from the original by the fact that it doesn't go from
0-60 in less than five seconds, and a few other minor details like that.

He's now working on another version with a proper quattro drivetrain. The
article suggested that for a mere 5000 pounds, Dialynx would chop the
middle out of your own car. You don't use those back seats, do you?

    Alasdair.

P.S. Forgot to bring the article in. I know that someone was interested
in the body modifications shown in the original picture - I can post
    Dialynx's address and phone number.
