Don't know where you live, but shopping around in spring, should allow you to
get a private party 5000tq for that kind of money, certainly not much more
(4500-6000 in Chicago for the same 80-100k car), and I will say the
peformance potential is phenominal in comparison (Currently my 87 with 135k
is around the 285 hp league), the parts are built for HP/hp applications.
 the second generation 4wd 5k cars can use the stock drivetrain in
modifications to the 400hp range...  I would wait till spring and get the big
guy (current gas mileage by the way is mid to upper 20's with aggressive
driving).
