Re: 4KS "Normal" oil temp




I assume that the 4 cylinder engine is similar to the 5 cylinder that I 
have (82 coupe).  Normal oil temperature is 80 degrees C when the engine 
is warm.  It must be near this temperature for accurate emissions testing.  
The oil temperature can range up to 110 degrees C with highway driving on 
a hot day.  I expect that hard driving would bring it up even further.  
Normal oil pressure is up to 80 psi (about 5 bar).  I use 20W-50 oil, so my 
bar gauge is almost always pegged.  It will read lower when the oil is 
warm/thin and the engine RPM is low.  Oil presure can be very high when the 
engine is cold.
