I don't remember seeing the original post, but I would highly recommend
insulating the hose that goes from the airbox outlet to the turbo inlet.
That hose costs over $100, and if unprotected the heat from the exh/turbo
cooks the material. I ended up using a piece of insulation that I bought
from a part number on the fiche but never exactly figured out where it
was supposed to go. It appears to be made from a sheet of pretty flexible
metal (probably aluminum) covered with a layer of fiberglass and then
another layer of foil. The thing was shaped like a squared of U channel
like it was supposed to go over a suspension bit or something. I formed
it to go around the hose in such a way as to allow the hose to be able to
flex, but still be shielded by the new piece, and am holding it in place
with a hose clamp.
Otherwise the intake tract bits that are close to the exhaust & turbo are
made of fairly substantial metal (as least on my '83 they are). I wonder
how much insulation you'll be able to do. OTOH I have been considering
either wrapping the exhaust with insulation or getting it "Jet hot" coated.
Any thoughts or experience on that out there?
