I recently spoke with him about a chip for my non-turbo '87 5000S and while
I initially found him friendly and helpful, the minute I started asking him
questions about how and where he alters the OEM advance curve so that I can
better judge the results I'm likely to experience, he clammed up and got me
off the phone in a big hurry.

Being in a service business myself, I understand that he might be concerned
about selling his "trade secrets" instead of giving them away but if he put
himself in my shoes, he might realize that vague, non-specific answers like
the ones he gave me can also cost him a sale, as it did in my case. When I
get my '91 200tqw back on the road, I'll no doubt give him another call but
until then, if this is how he deals with legitimate technical questions, he
will have to make do _without_ my money, thank you very much.
