If I had to guess, I would say that Audi would elect to whip the hanky off
the W12 rather than wheel out a high capacity V8. The reasons being (1) BMW
and Benz offer V12's on their flagships,
(2) technical sophistication is a selling point at that end of the market,
(3) I read somehere that Audi engineers believe a cylinder should not
displace more than ~0.55 liters.
