Pat,
There is a big difference between my "light metallic sound" versus 
your "howl".   I have had some "howl" too.  I believe that is from 
the hydraulic steering system - air in system.   The problem improved 
a lot when air is bled off from the steering hydraulic system.  Still 
a little bit of "howl", but much better then before.
