'84 GT fixes

I have an '84 coupe and there are some thing that need fixing on it.Hope 
someone can help me out.
1. The passenger side seat is real loose and upon inspection I see what 
looks like a plastic fitting sitting inside the rail, which is also 
attached to the seat. This plastic piece is broken.Is this the cause
2. does a person have to be double jointed to change the air filter?
3. Where can I get a good manual for this auto...Haynes manuals suck.
4. The electric mirrors don't work. I pulled the housing on the arm rest 
and cleaned it...nothing. There is no hummm, sounds like there is no 
power going to the mirror. what would be the logical steps to check for 
this malady.
I should point out that my son and I work on this car together and we are 
both learning as we go.
