Yes. The little palstic piece is what shims the seat in place and keeps
it from rattling/creaking around. The way the seat tracks are designed,
the plastice keeps it snug. You probably wouln't have to spend too much
on it from a dealer. My car needs one too.

If you want the "Audi Bible", get a Bentley. This is the factory manual
for Audi/VW/etc. The cost a small fortune, but fi you intend to keep the
car, get it. They're about $90.
