Probably ... I had to replace the plastic pieces on my '83 QTC for the
same reason.  I seem to recall that there was some sort of design change 
in the seat rails ... make sure that you bring in what's left of your old 
parts to make sure they look like the parts on the fiche.

Don't know on your car, but it couldn't hurt! ;)  Try replacing the air 
filter on a QTC!  ... OK ... too easy ... try tightening the exh man nuts 
on either cyl 2 or 5 on a QTC ;@)

Get the "Bentley" manual.  Title is: "Audi 4000S, 4000CS and Coupe GT 
Official Factory Repair Manual: 1984-1987, including Quattro and Quattro 
Turbo" by Audi of America.  ISBN 0-8376-0348-X, Audi Part Number: 
LPV 800 423, Bentley Stock No. A487 published by Robert Bentley, first 
printing 2/87.  From postings to the list it appears that your best price 
may be through Linda@Carlsen, but you may want to take the numbers to a 
local discount book seller.

Probably best to trace the wiring.  Bentley has a good wiring diagram in 
the manual ... it is one page that I canfax to you if you'd like.  Check 
fuse S19 in the main fuse box (3rd from the right end).  My mirror motors 
are flaky sometimes, but I can always hear the solenoids that switch from 
left-right to up-down actuation.
