QTC - rotors

HI all - and glad to be on board ....
my 85 QTC rotors are warping and I seem to be wearing half through my front pads
in approx 10K miles.......
These rotors were NEW 10K miles ago and have just been machined.
My mechanic tells me my driving style must be somewhat inspired....I suppose it
is but can I expect this much rotor maintenance.....?
I live in San Francisco which may be compounding the problem....any similar
experiences would give some peace of mind. thanx in advance - james
